Where’s The Money from Geico

It’s appears to be so easy for people with not so good credit to get a loan to build or buy a home. Why is it so hard for us?

This year has been nothing but monthly excitement for us, which is great, but when will we get to spend some money on a honeymoon or vacation? Reporters say now is the time to start a business, but starting a business during a recession has not been easy. We're trying to save money, payoff bills, and increase our credit scores, but things are moving so slow that we're not sure when we will be able to even think about building our dream home. We are in it for the long haul, so stay tuned.

The Canty's

This week has been like any other one, busy! My wife graduated from college and our son got a few awards and recognition from R.O.T.C. The excitement has me thinking about going back to school and enhancing my education. But the thought of returning to school has me in one big DAZE!

I was so proud of Angela when I heard her name called by the announcer at graduation. Of course hearing my name attached to her name made me even more proud. This was something that she had been working on before we met but, I am so glad to share this moment of her life. As she took her stroll across the floor, I was inspired to seek further education for myself.

The very next night we attended an awards ceremony with Christopher. He was recognized several times and he appears to be doing well. Being a part of this program is helping him by giving him a sense of direction after graduation. We both are very proud of him.

After careful consideration my Daze is over. I’ve decided to enroll at Lively Technical School to better myself for my family. Stay tuned!!!!

Each month we struggle with what to do and this month is no different. Angela is graduating from Tallahassee Community College (TCC) and I want to take her out of town to get away from the everyday hustle and bustles. But yet again, money is always an issue. Is a trip now something she would want or something she needs? My wife has worked very hard to get to this point in her life and she deserves to rest. She is a full time employee with the state, was a single mom, and a very active member at church. It’s been hard on her doing everything by herself and I want to show her how much she is appreciated and needed by this family.

Well, she did get Susie back, so I’ll just have to wait and see.

Susie Goes Under the KnifeA member of our family has been under the weather. Susie has been dedicated and reliable for the past eleven years. We’ve taken her strong inner spirit for granted. Her illness has been a major set back to our family. We took Susie to the mechanic to have a heart transplant and she is doing much better and will be up and moving around again by Monday, April 21st. By now you know Susie is our vehicle (Isuzu Redo). We wanted to trade Susie in for a new vehicle, but after extensive discussion, we decided to go for what we needed. We called our coaches and explained to them what was going on and what we wanted to do and Lavelle called us back within a couple of hours with a website (EverDrive.com). They have vehicle motors and parts, our motor comes with a three year/unlimited mileage warranty. So we practically have a new vehicle. We are thankful for this contest, because if we were not in this contest, we probably would have bought a new vehicle in the next month. But, instead we got what we needed, dependable transportation and saved $25,000-$30,000 easily. We really miss you Susie and can’t wait to get you home.LoveThe Canty Family

Big Bucks, No Wammies:

Just when we thought everything was going smoothly – Big Bucks, Big Bucks, Big Bucks, Stop! Here comes the wammies.

This is what we think most families go through when things are going smoothly, something happens such as a motor goes out in a vehicle, kids in college need money, air condition goes out, etc. Well, we are experiencing the motor going out in a vehicle. Do you struggle with doing without the vehicle, buying a new vehicle, or buying a new motor for the vehicle?

Well, after careful consideration we’ve decided it’s much cheaper to buy a new motor. We’d much rather pay for the motor and installation oppose to purchasing a new vehicle and having monthly payments for the next three to five years.

We’re looking at the big picture which is building a new home, so we make the sacrifice by staying with our long term plan to pay off at least three to four bills this year.

Deal or No Deal

Let us start by saying we have not only joined our finances, but we choose to live our life as one forever. We do everything together and neither of us will make any decisions without consulting the other one and if we choose to do so it will only be for the betterment of our family.

Some of our friends and family think we don’t know what we’re doing by putting our information (business) on the internet, but there’s no information totally confidential. Getting information about someone is just a matter of making a phone call or searching the internet. The only true business we have is what’s between us and God.

When we decided to get married, we knew some people would question our relationship, but keep in mind we didn’t ask people to give us direction. We prayed to God and asked Him for direction. God put us together and we're putting our trust in Him. At the end of the day the only thing that truly matters is that our family is happy and we are.

Some families pay hundreds of dollars to get the wealth of free information and guidance we’re getting through this program. We question things we don’t understand or haven’t experienced, so if you haven’t tried it maybe you should at least consider it. In these tough economic times we all can use some financial guidance.

So, it's up to you DEAL or NO DEAL!

We want to thank everyone who has supported us and who continue to support during these trying time. It's not easy making lifestyle changes, but it's a good time to start.

Happy Birthday Angela

Getting Down to Business

Because we have been so busy with cutting expenses, starting a business and graduation for Angela in May, we haven’t had time to thank those of you who were present at the wedding or those who were so kind to give us a gift. So, our thanks to you all:

February 14, 2009 you were there to witness our special day on which we said "I Do!" We appreciate your presence, your words of wisdom and your good wishes too. On that day you were there to witness, the day we shall always remember. We'll cherish it every year, from January through December. On that day you were there to witness our wedding, the union of two people in love tying the knot here on earth, while being blessed by our angels above. On that day you were there to witness as we begin our new life. You meet our brand new family, now that we are husband and wife. On that day you were there to witness the day that our life together, starts. We are glad you were there to share in our joy, and thank you with all our hearts.

Please accept our sincere thanks for the lovely gifts.
Both the thoughts and the gifts made us very happy.

We have started the competition by cutting cost on lunch, grocery shopping and personalized tags. Instead of having a full meal at lunch we have started to order from the .99 menu which only cost us about $3 to $4 opposed to ordering a value meal at $7 to $8 a day. We only grocery shop every two weeks now and shop for vegetable and fruit during the week, if needed. Instead of getting the personalized tags for our vehicles, we decided to purchase regular tags without the additional cost. When we can more afford to support our desired school we will support education in that manner again, but for now we will find other ways to support education.

We have been shopping for equipment for the business and we are undecided on what method to use for purchasing big ticket items. We have decided to open a business account so that we can keep our business and personal accounts separate. Because the economy is down right now, it’s tough getting started and sometimes even scary, but our faith keeps us strong as we move forward on our journey. We would love to stop by to give you an estimate, so please do contact us All-n-One (yards and janitorial services) – 850-508-4471.

This process is not easy and some people don’t agree with the decisions the families have made, but just keep in mind we all will win as long as we put forth a little effort. We made decision which got us here, now we have to accept responsibility for our actions and make a continuous effort to improve our situations.

Good luck to all the families and remain true to yourselves.

Since getting married on February 14, 2009, Mitchell and I have starting combining our income so that we can better manage our bills. We sat down together and wrote down all our bill and came up with a plan to pay them off one at a time. We started paying them this month (March). I think our biggest struggle will be Mitchell's spending habit. He is working on getting use to spending on things we need oppose to things he see and want. We've decided that I will pay the bills and he will be a contributor to the cause.

If we follow our plan, we will by year end pay off at least three to four bills and be on our way to saving for a down payment for our dream home.
